Seasonal flowers

Wedding rimes with flowers and the need to let go of one’s creativity on the floral theme chosen by the newlyweds. The rose symbolizes true love, the tulip sincere love and the orchid, seduction. Seasonal flowers, pearled head pins, strings and rubber elastics, a broad ribbon which balances the dominant colors, a sharp knife – the necessary ingredients for the florist to unleash her creativity and craft the bride’s bouquet and the floral designs where roses, gerberas, lilies, orchids or carnations will speak. Flowers are the best messengers of love.

Getting married in summer…

During summer in Mauritius, florists make bouquets from local flowers or imported ones from Malaysia or other countries: anthurium, orchid, bird of paradise, rose, alpinia, heliconia, frangipani, bougainvillea, lily, gerbera, red ginger lily, chrysanthemum, carnation or aromas. Depending on the theme chosen by the bridegrooms, blue can be added to the white chrysanthemums to match the decoration.

Florists are able to acquire flowers regardless of the season thanks to imports. They then choose proteas, hydrangea, lisianthus, alstromeria, gladioli, lilies and peonies come from Holland.

The trochetia, the national emblem of Mauritius, and the philodendron, are sometimes used for table decorations.

Getting married in winter…

In winter, except aromas, which are summer flowers, all the others are available.
